I will be going to school at the University of Illinois at Chicago (provided that I get accepted) in the fall. I've already completed my General Education courses in order to get into the College of Engineering. I look at the course curriculum required to receive a Bachelor's in Computer Science with a Software Engineering Concentration and was a bit confused. I assumed that going into the computer science field, you would learn different computer languages. None of the courses seem to be specific on whether or not I'll be learning different languages or not. I would prefer people with CS degrees to answer this question. Here's the UIC curriculum: http://www.cs.uic.edu/bin/view/Main/SoftwareEngineeringConcentration Here's the UIC course description (CS) : http://www.uic.edu/ucat/courses/CS.html I'm currently taking C++ that will transfer over.. but also want to learn C, C#, Java, PHP, Javascript, Python, Visual Basic, and Ruby. Will any of those required courses teach me these languages?... Read More »
