Open Question: Whats the best way to sell myself on my personal statement for University?

I'm almost 26 years old i have to write out a personal statement done by the end of this week for those who don't know, personal statement's are just a letter you write to Universities you want to go to telling them why they should accept you. I have applied for a computing degree course. I can build and repair computers. I can generate small programs in visual basic, design websites using HTML and Dreamweaver. Have used other programming languages for example Python and BlueJ. I want to become a Software Engineer or a Web Designer. I also have a part-time job as checkouts operator at a local supermarket. The question is: "To help us assess your skills and suitability for the course we require a personal statement of approximately 200 words. This should include your reasons for choosing the course, challenges facing you in your studies and personal career development." Maybe 'power words'? Any suggestions?? Please help!!... Read More »
